Filmmaker Benjamín Naishtat (Puan, Rojo) is set to direct Glaxo, adapted from Hernán Ronsino’s eponymous novel. Naishtat adapted the novel. The film will star Lali Espósito (Permitidos, Acusada), Esteban Lamothe (El estudiante, Abzurdah), Marcelo Subiotto (Puan, El Eternauta), Manu Fanego (El amor después del amor, Granizo), Alan Sabbagh (El rey del once, Division Palermo) and Esteban Bigliardi (La Flor). Production is scheduled to begin this year in Brazil and Argentina.
CAA Media Finance is handling sales. Produced by Rodrigo Teixeira and Berta Marchiori for RT Features alongside Rei Pictures, the film will be co-produced by Santiago Gallelli, Benjamin Domenech and Matías Roveda.
Set in a small province town between the late 1950s and the 1980s, Glaxo is the story of the friendship of four young men which is shattered forever when a former policeman and his beautiful wife arrive in town, where the Glaxo factory is located. A film about desire and revenge, set in a time when a whole country lost its innocence.
